How the charity began...
When Deborah and Chris were expecting Jovie, they were fortunate to have a wonderful fetal medicine midwife and doctor who supported their decision to continue the pregnancy. However, they found limited support outside the hospital, with only occasional website recommendations. Sharing their story revealed that many others felt pressured into termination and lacked adequate support.
Hearing that a baby is "incompatible with life" is heartbreaking, and many parents face a lonely and confusing journey. Friends and family, despite their best intentions, often struggle to understand.
It's important to say, we are not a pro-life charity and will never tell you what's right or wrong. Our mission is to help you understand all sides so you can make an informed decision about your journey.
We highlight the positives, showing how even a brief life can be cherished and impactful. If you choose to continue your pregnancy, we're here to support you as much or as little as you need.
If you decide not to continue, we'll connect you with supportive resources specialising in their field. Our volunteers, who have been in your shoes, provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to express your feelings. We offer support via phone, video calls, emails, text messages, a private Facebook group and in-person if you're local.
Currently, we focus on emotional support, but we have big dreams for the future.
Jovie came to change the world, and we're here to help make that happen.
